Composites, water purification and Russian-Serbian friendship
Scientists from Tula State University have become the winners of the Tula Region Government grant competition in science and technology for 2024. Let us look at their projects.
The annual competition is held in order to resolve issues of state support for the scientific and technical potential of the Tula region; the regulations are determined by the regional government. The total amount of funds for the payment of grants by the end of 2024 was 28 million rubles. Applications for participation in the competition were evaluated according to the following criteria: effectiveness, scientific novelty, resource availability, project development prospects, compliance with the priorities of development of science, technology and engineering of the Tula region.
Following the results of the competitive selection, seven projects of Tula State University representatives were supported. In the nomination "Developments and research in the areas of activity of the world-class scientific and educational center "TulaTECH" a grant of three million rubles will be received by the scientific director of the laboratory of artificial intelligence technologies EvgenyIvanovichMinakov. The presented topic is for official use.
In the nomination "Projects of Young Scientists", grants of one million rubles for the implementation of projects were won by Roman NikolaevichPerchikov, junior research fellow at the laboratory of biologically active compounds and biocomposites at Tula State University, and Irina NikolaevnaFomicheva, junior research fellow at the laboratory of polymeric materials and composites technology at Tula State University.
Roman Perchikov, with the support of the Government of the Tula Region, will work on the creation of renewable electrodes for environmentally friendly biological power sources.
“The electrodes developed during the project can be used in bioelectrochemical systems to generate electricity from various organic wastes, and can also be used to purify wastewater and domestic water,” said the young researcher.
The topic of Irina Fomicheva's project is the development of a high-strength thermoplastic composite material for products used at low temperatures. In the future, it is planned to scale up the developed technological solutions, and introduce the composite material into the production process of enterprises in the Tula region.
Junior research fellow of the laboratory of inertial sensors of primary information, orientation and navigation systems Alexey Vladimirovich Kalikanov and acting head of the department of instrumental and metrological systems of Tula State University Valentina AleksandrovnaBelyakova won in the nomination "Research projects in the field of natural and technical sciences". The amount of financial support for each project will be 800 thousand rubles. The topic of Alexey Kalikanov's project is intended for official use, and Valentina Belyakova will be engaged in the design of a special import-substituting tool for finishing processing of cylindrical gears.
One of the promising research projects in the field of humanities and social sciences was presented by Olga EvgenyevnaBocharova, associate professor of the Department of Sociology and Political Science at Tula State University. With the help of a grant of 500 thousand rubles, she will conduct a study on the topic of "Social adaptation of students of Tula universities from the People's Republic of Donetsk, People's Republic of Luhanskand the eastern regions of Ukraine."
According to Olga Bocharova, the implementation of the project will allow to continue and optimize work to improve the social adaptation of students - forced migrants from the DPR, LPR and eastern regions of Ukraine in the Tula region.
“This will help stabilize the social situation and reduce the level of social tension, since adaptation to new living conditions is characterized by a person’s ability to adequately perceive themselves and the surrounding reality, build an effective system of relationships with others, and create a favorable basis for learning, professional activity, and organizing leisure time,” the researcher concluded.
Ph.D. student and teaching assistantof the History of State and Law Department at Tula State UniversityMilan Stojanovic, will receive a grant of 200 thousand rubles.
The funds will be required to organize and hold the scientific and practical conference "Russian-Serbian relations in the context of the formation of a multipolar world order: experience and prospects." The event is expected to serve the purpose of bringing the peoples of Russia and Serbia closer together in the new world political conditions, interaction between educational organizations of the region and cultural institutions in the process of historical education.
