Russian language unites!

On May 26 there was a festive concert dedicated to the Day of Slavonic Script and Culture in the Student Space. The event is traditionally organized
by the Department of General Theoretical Disciplines and Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of International Education.

This holiday, which has already become a good tradition, is held annually at the university. Originally, the event was initiated by the
Department of Russian Language, and it was a more chamber event. However, every year the holiday gained momentum, uniting international students, their teachers and
guests in a single impulse of love and respect for the Russian language.
Olesya Yevgenyevna Labadze, Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities, opened the event: “From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you
all with this holiday! On this day, we honor the creators of the Cyrillic alphabet - the great enlighteners Cyril and Methodius. Of course, the Russian
language has been transformed throughout history, influenced by historical events, technical progress, discoveries in different spheres. And how pleasant
it is to realize that today the Russian language is the most effective means of communication, which unites TulSU students from different countries”.
- Let this holiday prove, dear students, that you have made confident and
correct steps in studying Russian language! I urge all of you to love, respect and understand Russian language and Russian culture, because they are
unique and extremely beautiful! - Olga Dmitriyevna Gladkova, Director of the Institute of International Education, addressed the participants.
The warmest congratulations on the Day of Slavonic Script and Culture
arrived at Tula State University in the format of a video postcard came from our friends and partners - the Russian-African Youth Alliance (RAMA). Project
co-chair Anastasiya Vilkova together with RAMA participants wished everyone to fall in love with the Russian language once and for all, definitively and
irrevocably.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Murashkin, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Vietnam, addressed our students in his congratulatory
speech: “Dear friends! International students of TulSU are a part of the global community of Russian students! I would like to wish you that every page read in
Russian inspires you. May life in Russia and studying at one of the largest and best Russian universities become a bright and happy period of your life. This
year is a jubilee year for the university - it turns 95 years old. New knowledge, ideas, meetings, impressions in your native university will lead you
forward. Russian House in Hanoi wishes you happiness, health and persistence in achieving your goals!”
After the solemn part, the participants learned about the history of the
Day of Slavonic Script and Culture, that the Slavonic alphabet was created on the basis of the Greek alphabet in the second half of the 9th century by the
great Slavonic enlighteners - the Equal-to-Apostles Brothers Cyril and Methodius.
This is how the Old Slavonic language emerged, on the basis of which the
Russian language, later the modern Russian literary language, began to develop. This is the language that our foreign students are studying now and which they
will need in the future.
For the Day of Slavonic writing and culture the international students prepared creative performances. They recited poems, sang songs and performed
skits.
The best poems by I.A. Bunin, A.A. Akhmatova, M.Y. Lermontov, A.S.Pushkin and other poets were performed by international students of the
pre-university training program. They touchingly performed classical and modern songs in Russian, as well as songs of the war years.
During the concert, not only the talents of the students were
recognized, but also their academic successes. Irina Marselyevna Lagun, Head of the Department of General Theoretical Disciplines and Russian as a Foreign
Language, awarded diplomas to the winners and prize-winners of Olympiads for international students in Russian language, physics, biology, chemistry, computer
science, mathematics, drawing and natural sciences.
Special thanks were given to the participants of the presentation contest “Great War - Multinational Victory” dedicated to the 80th anniversary
of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
- The Russian language is very beautiful! I like to study it, I have
already made progress,” commented a simple Cambodian boy with a beautiful name - Vesna Thong.
