Using Digital Technologies in Training International Students
Tula State University has equipped a chemistry laboratory and biology classroom for international pre-university students.
Applicants who do not speak Russian study at the Institute of International Education at Tula State University in additional education programs that prepare foreign citizens for professional educational programs. Our specialists have extensive experience in providing not only language training but also general education in various fields, including engineering, technology, biomedical science, natural science, economics and the humanities depending on their future higher education program.
In 2025, the chemistry laboratory was equipped with modern facilities. The instruments include digital sensors for recording temperature, ions quantity, and pH. During lab works, data from the sensors is transmitted via a Bluetooth adapter to a laptop and displayed on the screen. It is possible to save a file with the data obtained during recording, subsequently process this data, and generate graphs. Chemical glassware, reagent kits, and wall charts were purchased for lab works. A set of crystal lattice models is used to study the structure of substances with various types of chemical bonds.
To facilitate lectures, practical classes, and laboratory activities, whiteboards and a multimedia system with a control unit and internet access have been installed. This system allows for the display of instructor-prepared educational materials in various formats, including presentations, quizzes, and videos, on a large screen. Students now have access to online chemistry simulators, including the ones for the preparation for final and entrance exams.
The laboratories were equipped with specialized furniture and equipment as part of the “Priority-2030” program. The project aims to improve international students' proficiency in fundamental disciplines that form the basis for their chosen field of higher education.
