Decent results — a start to new prospects

On March 2, a regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at Tula State University.

It began with a moment of silence.

Those present paid tribute to the memory of the scientist, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, professor, founder of the Tula scientific school of Mathematics Valeriy Ivanovich Ivanov, who died on this day exactly one year ago.

The award ceremony took place.

By order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the honorary title “Honorary Worker of Education of the Russian Federation” was awarded to:

— Igor Yevgenyevich Agureyev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Acting Head of the Department of Design and Manufacture of Small Arms and Cannon Weapons;

— Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Director of the Institute of International Education Olga Dmitriyevna Gladkova.

The badge “Honorary Mentor” was awarded to Vladimir Yakovlevich Raspopov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Consultant Professor at the Department of Control Devices.

The student-athletes of Tula State University, who performed well at the All-Russian competitions, received acknowledgement:

— Anna Arefyeva, a first-year student of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, took first place at the Ski Track of Russia as part of the Ski Week of the Moscow Department of Sports;

— Nikita Bykovskiy, a second-year student at the Department of Tourism and the Hospitality Industry at the Institute of Pedagogy, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, took second place at the All-Russian keirin (track cycling) competitions for men, second place at the Russian git (a type of individual sprint track time trial) running 1000 m pairs among men, first place in the Russian Cup in the men's team sprint, third place at the Russian Championship in the 250 m time trial among men;

— Oleg Lazukin, a second-year student at the Department of Physical Culture and Wellness Technologies at the Institute of Pedagogy, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, took first place in the All-Russian Athletics Competitions “For the prizes of the Honored Master of Sports V. Tikhomirova.”

TulSU Rector Oleg Alexandrovich Kravchenko presented his report on the results of the university's work in 2025 and the tasks of the team for 2026 to the members of the Academic Council.

Tula State University, he said, is the only higher education educational organization in the region that conducts multidisciplinary continuous training of specialists at all levels.

The university staff has done a big work to prepare and organize the admission of students to the university. The budget admission plans established by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for 2025 have been implemented for all forms and levels of education.

At the same time, Oleg Alexandrovich noted with satisfaction, there was a positive trend. The number of students enrolled in full-time education, target students, as well as representatives from other regions has increased significantly.

The rector talked about the projects implemented by the university in 2025, the structure of the TulSU budget revenue, cooperation with industrial partners, the training of engineering personnel to ensure technological leadership, the transformation of medical education, the development of fundamental training, the creation of educational laboratories, Tula Engineering School “Intelligent Defense Systems”, federal, regional and nominal scholarships for defense enterprises, industrial complex of the Tula region for university students.

Oleg Alexandrovich emphasized that the directions of the university's scientific activity development are determined by research policy, University Development Strategy approved by the TulSU Board of Trustees on September 11, 2025, Priority 2030 programs and Advanced Engineering School. Their main goal is to create a unified scientific and innovative infrastructure at the university for conducting advanced research.

The report on the work of Tula State University was approved unanimously.
