Study in Tula!

The twentieth anniversary exhibition and presentation of Russian education "Study in Russia!" has already been held in the Russian House (representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo) in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This year, 48 of the best Russian universities (both classical and highly specialized) from various parts of our large country, from St. Petersburg to Irkutsk, took part in the exhibition.

This was the third time that Tula State University was represented by Olga Dmitriyevna Gladkova, Director of the Institute of International Education.

During two eventful days of the exhibition, applicants from different cities of Kazakhstan, as well as their parents, got acquainted with the educational opportunities of Russian universities, studied the information stands of universities and their admissions committees, learned useful information about the specifics of entrance examinations, budget and commercial places and passing scores.

Of particular interest was the acquaintance of applicants with the opportunity to study at Russian universities, and at TulSU in particular, according to the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. They got acquainted with the specifics of the quota application procedure on the Rossotrudnichestvo website "Education in Russia for Foreigners" (Education In Russia), a convenient way to apply from anywhere in the world and go through the selection stages for admission to educational institutions in Russia.

TulSU brought information and reference materials, presentations of educational opportunities and videos about the university in two languages – Russian and Kazakh - to Kazakhstan. Applicants actively subscribed to the Institute of International Education's VKontakte page, were interested in the range of educational programs and summer schools being implemented, received initial consultations on a package of necessary documents, and asked questions about the university, the campus, and the hero city of Tula.

During the two-day communication with applicants at the exhibition-presentation site, the obvious demand for educational programs such as construction, architecture, oil and gas business, management, IT, economics, linguistics, chemistry and biology was noted. Traditionally, high demand remains for medical specialties.

– This year's anniversary exhibition is the twentieth. We usually always have more than 40 universities represented, and this year 48 universities have arrived. Traditionally, the biggest competition is for IT specialties and medicine, but young people are also interested in economics, engineering, etc. Universities from all over Russia come to our exhibition," commented Olga Alexandrovna Filonova, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Kazakhstan.

She clarified that 800 quota places will be allocated for Kazakhstani applicants, while, according to her, the number of applications has increased significantly.

– Over the past three years, the number of applications submitted has been constantly growing. If last year there were about 2,600 applications, now there are already 3,400," Olga Alexandrovna noted, emphasizing that Kazakhstan leads in the number of applications in comparison with other post–Soviet countries.

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan have the opportunity to enroll in TulSU at the expense of federal budget allocations for places within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation, and in accordance with international treaties of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan for places allocated to citizens of the Russian Federation and persons entering on equal terms with citizens of the Russian Federation. In addition, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan can enroll in our university under contracts for the provision of paid educational services.

Over two days, the twentieth anniversary exhibition-presentation of Russian education "Study in Russia!" was attended by more than 4,000 people.
