New Space for Future Lawyers and Economists at TulSU
Renovations to the fourth floor of Tula State University's 5th academic building were completed in time for the start of the academic year.
The building traditionally houses Institute of Law and Management, but it also hosts classes for students from other institutes.
Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko, addressing first-year students and guests, explained that the idea for the renovations arose after he saw the interest students showed in taking photos in the existing locations within the building. "Student comfort is a key priority when renovating educational spaces. It's important to consider even the smallest details, which, taken together, significantly impact students' daily lives," noted Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko.

The building traditionally houses Institute of Law and Management, but it also hosts classes for students from other institutes.
Renovations to the 5th academic building were extensive and phased. Several classrooms and lecture halls received new walls, ceilings, doors, and windows, and recreation areas were also renovated. The total area of the renovated spaces exceeded 1,000 square meters.
Distinguished guests attended the opening of the renovated floor: Nikolai Yuryevich Vorobyov, Russian Senator and Secretary of the United Russia regional branch, and Marina Viktorovna Levina, First Deputy Chairperson of the Tula Regional Duma.

I sincerely wish you excellent grades and successful studies at this wonderful university — the pride of Tula Region," said Nikolai Yuryevich Vorobyov.
First Deputy Chairperson of the Tula Regional Duma, Marina Viktorovna Levina, took the floor and addressed the first-year students.
"The fact that you've been accepted to one of the best universities in our country is already a big step. The most important thing is that you always have serious aspirations, ambitious goals, and a desire to constantly learn. After all, the most lasting practices are established among students. And knowledge is the most important asset in life. Along with success in your studies and scientific research, I wish you simple human happiness. After all, it is happiness that inspires victories, large and small, and great discoveries!" said Marina Viktorovna Levina.
Following the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mikhail Aleksandrovich Berestnev, Director of Institute of Law and Management, gave guests a tour.
He explained that during the renovations, special attention was paid to the educational atmosphere of the space. At the suggestion of students at the Institute of Law and Management, the walls of the corridors and classrooms are decorated with portraits of prominent economists and lawyers, along with their quotes. The classroom where history classes are held is also decorated with paintings that reflect specific historical milestones in Russian history.

During the conversation with the invited guests, it became clear that the first-year students' reasons for choosing Tula State University varied: some were inspired by the advice of friends, others were motivated by an interest in their specialty, and still others were continuing a family academic tradition.
It was interesting to learn about the current lives of the newly minted students. It turned out that many are not limiting themselves to lectures and seminars; some are already applying for grants. The rector noted that the Tula State University Student and Graduate Student Trade Union actively works with these proactive students. Trade union chairperson Elizaveta Basherova, who also participated in the discussion, had already exchanged contact information with the students and promised that no interesting initiative would go unnoticed.
Also present at the meeting was Alexander Sergeevich Solntsev, a member of Special Military Operation who had enrolled at Tula State University for a second degree. Thanks to his presence, the students saw that the university is open to people with diverse life experiences.
The discussion concluded with the topic of employment in the Tula Region. The university guests assured that Tula State University students would be eagerly awaited in the region.
