TulSU: A Platform for International Dialogue

Tula State University hosted a meeting between international students and ambassadors from Arab nations. The event was held with the support of the Department of State Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The meeting opened with some remarks from Elena Olegovna Podolko, Deputy Director of the Department of State Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. She emphasized that the Tula Region is actively developing cooperation with Arab states — not only in trade, economics, and cultural exchange but also in the field of education.

In his address, Andrey Andreyevich Malikov, Vice-Rector for Financial Affairs, outlined key areas for collaboration.

"Today, we will discuss current cooperation issues and exchange experiences and ideas that will help us move forward and reach new heights in our shared mission: training highly qualified professionals for your countries," said Andrey Andreyevich.

The main part of the meeting took the form of an open dialogue with the students. They asked questions about opportunities for project-based work in Russia — with the aim of implementing initiatives back home — shared their impressions of life and study in the Tula region, and spoke about how they are adapting to the new educational environment and the prospects they envision for themselves after graduation.

The event strengthened the university's international ties and gave TulSU’s international students the opportunity to discuss matters of importance to them directly with members of the diplomatic corps.
