The Russian Language – a Vast Ocean
A concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture was held at Tula State University.
The Institute of International Education at Tula State University prepared a concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture. Students from various countries, together with faculty from the Department of General Theoretical Disciplines for International Students, performed the song "Tula – My Land." All songs and poems performed at the concert were in Russian. The international students demonstrated their knowledge of the Russian language and culture.
In her welcoming remarks, Olesya Evgenyevna Labadze, Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities, noted that every year, during the celebration of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, the Institute of International Education prepares events highlighting the significance of these saints and the role of the Russian language in international communication. It is no coincidence that the title of the holiday includes the words "literacy" and "culture," reflecting the fundamental foundations of any nation.
It's worth noting that before beginning their major, Tula State University teaches foreign citizens Russian history and culture, Russian language, and regional studies. Therefore, performing at this event is another opportunity for them to demonstrate their proficiency in Russian and their understanding of Russian culture.
