Building 5 Top Floor Renovation Close to Completion
Renovation of the fourth floor of Building 5 of Tula State University is nearing completion.
The building traditionally houses the Institute of Law and Management, but it also hosts classes for students from other university institutes.
Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko led a tour of the floor. Vice Rector for General Affairs and Digitalization Vladimir Ivanovich Grigoryev and Director of the Institute of Law and Management Mikhail Aleksandrovich Berestnev discussed the results of the renovations and the new capabilities of the space.
According to them, renovations in Building 5 were carried out on a large-scale, phased basis. Walls, ceilings, doors, and windows in several classrooms and lecture halls were renovated along with recreation areas. The total area of the renovated spaces exceeded 1,000 square meters.
“Student comfort is a key priority when renovating classrooms. It's important to consider even the smallest details, which, when combined, significantly impact students' daily lives”, noted Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko.
In particular, the rector emphasized the need to provide sufficient amount of hangers in classrooms, which is especially important during cold weather, when students need somewhere to hang their coats. An equally important issue concerned the location of electrical outlets, which should be conveniently located in coworking areas so that they can charge their phones during breaks.
During the renovation, special attention was also paid to the educational atmosphere of the space.
At the suggestion of students from the Institute of Law and Management, some walls of the corridors and classrooms will be decorated with portraits of prominent economists and lawyers along with their quotes.
The faculty supported this idea, noting that such details are intended to remind students of the importance of their professional careers and motivate them to achieve high academic achievements.
Now the fifth academic building is looking forward to the start of the academic year. At the rector's suggestion, all classrooms, including meeting rooms, will be dedicated to teaching, ensuring that every square meter of space serves the main purpose: helping students acquire new knowledge at Tula State University.
