A new coworking space will open in Academic Building № 6

Summer is vacation time for students, as well as a period for active renovations in academic buildings and dormitories.

Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko inspected the progress of the major renovation of the left wing of the first floor of Academic Building № 6.

Vladimir Ivanovich Grigoryev, Vice Rector for General Affairs and Informatization, explained that the renovation is taking place over an area of over 714 square meters. Completion of the major renovation is scheduled for October-2026. The renovation includes repairs to the walls, ceilings, and floors, replacement of doors, and upgrades to the internal engineering systems.

Oleg Alexandrovich noted that special attention was paid to the space's future purpose when designing it. The plan is to create a modern student coworking space, where students can not only work on projects and prepare for classes, but also meet, discuss ideas, and implement creative initiatives.

Roman Anatolyevich Kovalyov, Director of the Institute of Construction and Architecture, said this is particularly important because Academic Building № 6 is home to students studying creative fields - designers and architects. Therefore, design of the renovated space is conceived with original visual solutions that will reflect the spirit of creative professions and the overall atmosphere of the building. Students' best projects will also be displayed, exemplifying what can be achieved in these fields. This transformation of the study space not only makes it modern and comfortable, but also inspiring for students.

Afterwards, the site for the near-future installation of a modern building materials laboratory, where students from many educational programs will be trained was inspected.
