Russia made them friends

Foreign students of Tula State University took part in the Forum of Foreign Students "Russia made friends with us" 2023. The event was held from 16 to 22 July at the Cultural and Educational Center and Ethnographic Park-Museum "ETNOMIR" in the Kaluga region. The forum was organized by the Association of Foreign Students of Russia and the Russian Peoples' Friendship University named after. Patrice Lumumba with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The goals of the forum, which brought together 120 participants from more than 40 countries of the world and 30 cities of Russia, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign states, representatives of state authorities, leading experts and representatives of the business community, are quite ambitious.

In particular, this is an association of talented foreign youth, the development of the leadership potential of foreign students of Russian universities, the strengthening of educational, scientific and cultural cooperation between educational institutions of higher education in Russia. In 2023, the forum was held for the third time and included 5 days of an incredibly rich program - an open dialogue "Life strategy for success: how to build it?", a round table "Literature, history, culture are the language of the peoples of the World", an open discussion "Cooperation between Russia and foreign countries: achievements, projects", a training seminar "Create your project from A to Z", a master class "Writing grants/projects", a seminar "AIS as a tool for adapting foreign students in Russia" - and that's just a small share of the most interesting business program of the International Students Forum "Russia made friends with us" 2023.

During the forum, its participants had the opportunity to fruitfully communicate with people who have dedicated their lives to the internationalization of education in Russia - RUDN Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Chairman of Inkorvuz-XXI Larisa Ivanovna Efremova, General Director of Inkorvuz-XXI, founder of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Kochofa Aniset Gabriel, current President of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Issa Shaabo. The key point of the forum was the emphasis on the need to develop measures to support talented foreign youth and create conditions for the development of internal internationalization of universities in order to integrate the international and intercultural dimension into the educational and research functions of an educational institution.

The TSU team was represented at the forum by two foreign students - Talel Benltaief from Tunisia and Mustafa Abdulkhalem from Iraq.

- At the forum, we learned what events are held by the Association of Foreign Students of Russia, - said Mustafa Abdulkhalem. — During the business program, we were also told about the migration legislation of the Russian Federation regarding foreign students, and about what documents must be constantly on hand. The block "Create your project from A to Z" from the expert "Rosmolodezh.Grants" was also extremely useful. Well, the most striking and memorable moment was that I managed to interview the founder of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Kochof Aniset Gabriel.

“We need events like this forum, because thanks to it we met new people, made acquaintances and discovered new cultures from all over the world,” Talel Benltaief commented on his impressions of the trip to the forum. “I think events like this are an opportunity to work together and build a future that empowers all young people.
