Starting a Good Tradition

Last weekend in the Republic of India, an exhibition of educational services of Russian universities “Russian Education-2023” was held, the venue of which was the Russian house in New Delhi (representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of India).

Medical, technical, humanitarian and comprehensive universities from Russia presented their educational services to a wide Indian audience. The list of participants includes state universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orenburg, Perm, Tula, Pskov, Yoshkar-Ola. For the first time, Sevastopol State University took part in the exhibition in India.

For the second time this year, Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova, director of Institute of International Education of Tula State University, took part in such an event. She brought to the exhibition the souvenir products of the university and Tula Region, presentation materials about the educational services of Tula State University in English, as well as videos containing the stories of international students about the university in English and Hindi.

During the exhibition, personal communication with the director of Institute of International Education allowed potential applicants to find out the details not only about the numerous and diverse educational programs of Tula State University, in particular about "General Medicine" in English, but also about the accommodation conditions, the location of the university, and sociocultural adaptation for foreign citizens.

The program of the two-day exhibition was very rich. The event began with a round table on the topic “Russian-Indian Cooperation in the Field of Education”, in the framework of which representatives of Russian and Indian universities presented their educational organizations and discussed possible points of contact in the field of interaction through education, science and culture, as well as its prospects. Further, within 2 days, on the venue of the exhibition, applicants and their families had a great opportunity to get expert advice on studying at Russian universities, in particular in Tula. The event ended with the solemn opening of Russian Education Facilitation Center on the basis of the Indian partner of the Russian House in New Delhi - the company "RusEducation".
The high level of the event was also evidenced by the fact that the grand opening of the exhibition of educational services of Russian universities “Russian Education - 2023”, as well as Russian Education Facilitation Center, was visited by the deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov.

“This is the first exhibition of this scale, but I am sure that we are starting a good tradition. In India, Russian education is appreciated. Medical programs are in demand here. Thanks to this exhibition, we want to show that there are many educational programs in Russia, ”Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov said at the grand opening of the exhibition.

According to him, only at the moment about 30 thousand students from the Republic of India are studying in Russia. They can study both in Russian and in English. For the 2024/2025 academic year, the Government of the Russian Federation provided the Republic of India by 200 scholarships in Russian universities. As Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov noted, this number of scholarships is always filled with students.

Russian education in India is traditionally in growing demand. Medical programs are especially in demand. Indians who receive a medical education in Russia, returning to their homeland, have the opportunity to be engaged in medical practice or teach.

The visit of Russian universities to India was covered in the mass media in English and local languages.
