White coats, red diplomas
More than two hundred students graduated from the Medical Institute of Tula State University in 2025. The newly qualified doctors were awarded their diplomas on July 4.
For more than thirty years, Tula State University has been training doctors. The university has been implementing programs of higher, postgraduate and additional education, and carries out fundamental and applied scientific research in medical and biological sciences. The specialties of the Medical Institute are among the most prestigious and highly competitive.
The ceremony of awarding diplomas to doctors is always a very touching event. And it is very important not only for the university, but also for the entire Tula region, because the regional healthcare system receives new doctors, those who will work, as they say, on the front line. Deputy Governor of the Tula Region Natalya Aleksandrovna Arkhipova reminded about this at the ceremony on July 4. She thanked the teachers, many of whom are practicing doctors, heads of departments, directors of institutions.
The Minister of Health of Tula Region, Sergey Igorevich Mukhin, also presented diplomas with honors to graduates. He is a graduate of the Tula State University Medical Institute, which he always reminds about and speaks about the education he received with pride. Meetings at his native university are a good tradition for him.
In 2025, 201 people graduated from the Tula State University Medical Institute, 29 of whom received diplomas with honors, which is a serious achievement in such a complex field. Among the graduates are 50 foreign citizens; medical education at Tula State University is valued by students from dozens of countries. 51 graduates are students who studied under target contracts. They will soon start working in medical institutions of the region.
The graduates were congratulated by the rector of Tula State University Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko:
- Today you are entering a profession that has always been a symbol of courage and dedication. Doctors stood at the forefront during the most difficult moments of history: they saved lives during the bombings of the Great Patriotic War, fought epidemics, were on watch during peaceful days - without empty words, simply because it was necessary...
The director of the Tula State University Medical Institute Roman Vladimirovich Grachyov called the graduates “the continuers of the great tradition of mercy”. The chief doctors of Tula hospitals also took part in the ceremony; they, like no one else, are interested in these guys.
Emotions overwhelmed the graduates who went up to the stage in white coats. Many of them chose the medical profession for themselves in early childhood – and today they entered it. Like, for example, Dina Khabirova, who “treated” plush toys in kindergarten. - These six years were very intense, but my work was worth it to get closer to my dream, - said the graduate. - Everyone – both teachers and the management – tried to help us, interest us in the profession, captivate and instill the best ideals of a doctor. I will also note the rich clinical base of our institute, the opportunity to look at all medical specialties from the outside and decide on the direction for further activity. Well, of course, I can’t help but say about my wonderful staff, our group, we are one team...
Having received his diploma, Dina does not say goodbye to her studies - she will enter residency in the specialty "Radiology". Many graduates already have work experience. Anastasiya Burminskaya worked in the ambulance service for three years, and left there quite recently to prepare for exams and accreditation, which are mandatory for a doctor.
- The most interesting thing started after the third year, - Anastasiya shared her memories. - We had classes in the hospital, where we had the opportunity to talk to patients, that is, not only read about the disease in a book, but also in life, see it with my own eyes. This really helped me truly understand what it means to be a doctor. In my perfect future, I work as an anesthesiologist-resuscitator, so I hope that this year I will be able to enter this direction in residency.
