Tula State University Faculty Completed Yandex Education Program

Nine Tula State University faculty members from the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science department underwent training at the School of Teachers of Unified Development Modules—an educational program for university faculty who train future IT specialists. Participants mastered development courses, as well as modern educational practices and digital technologies. The School's program was developed by Yandex experts and helps universities prepare developers with market-relevant competencies.

Yandex experts introduced Tula State University faculty to modern educational approaches and student support principles implemented in the company's programs. School participants completed two tracks: developing professional and universal competencies. In the first, they studied Yandex courses on development, which students will take in the company's modules. In the second, they mastered modern teaching and student support formats, familiarized themselves about new educational technologies, and acquired the skills necessary to prepare IT specialists in demand by tech companies. Program participants studied methods for building a trusting and productive educational environment, the specifics of working with group dynamics, fostering healthy communication with students, and providing effective feedback. Courses in Yandex's modules are taught by both company employees and university faculty who have completed the training.

Tula State University's collaboration with Yandex has the potential to significantly improve the quality of IT education. The introduction of new courses and practice-oriented teaching methods will enable students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills that are in demand in the labor market. This can also attract talented students to the region, contributing to the development of the local economy and the IT sector.

Furthermore, such partnerships can provide access to resources and technologies that will help students better prepare for real-world work in the industry. The exchange of experience between faculty and Yandex specialists can enrich the educational process and enhance its practical relevance, noted Oleg Kravchenko, Rector of Tula State University.

"At Yandex, we place a great deal of emphasis on supporting both novice and experienced faculty and educational program directors. Strong and thoughtful faculty are the key asset of a modern program in machine learning, mobile development, and software engineering. Yandex employees teach in all of our joint programs with universities but it's equally important for us to help universities strengthen their teaching teams. We plan to expand our work with faculty and make it more diverse and systematic. This way, we not only improve our programs but also ensure accessibility and improve the quality of modern IT education," said Kirill Barannikov, Head of Strategic Development for Higher Education at Yandex Education.

In 2025, a total of 373 faculty members from 27 universities completed training, integrating Yandex's unified development modules into their IT programs. Those who complete the program will teach approximately 7,000 future IT specialists.

Starting this year, Tula State University is integrating the modules into its IT training programs. Students will study backend, frontend, and mobile development using Yandex's materials. Tula State University is the first university in the region to implement Yandex's educational modules.
