Just a Little More, and You Are a Tula State University Student

This week marks the final week of admissions campaigns at all universities across the country, including Tula State University.

This year, the number of applicants wishing to enroll at Tula State University is 15% higher than last year, according to the rector. Seventy percent of them live in the Tula region, and 30% live in other regions of the country. At the same time, applications continue to arrive remotely from applicants, including those from African countries.

On July 25, admission to state-funded places ends and the competitive selection process begins. More than 8,000 individuals applied to the Admissions Committee. 28% applied in person (2,347), while 72% applied remotely through the Admissions Service (5,798). Sixty-three people used both methods. In total, applicants submitted applications to more than 40,000 competitive groups.

Last year, by the end of the admissions campaign, 8,484 people applied to the committee, submitting applications to a total of 38,209 competitive groups. The share of in-person applicants decreased by approximately 5 percent compared to last year (from 33% to 28%).

Medical and IT specialties remain among the most in-demand fields of study. In particular, the “Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” program with a focus on artificial intelligence is generating considerable interest. Another program in demand among applicants is “Automation of Technological Processes and Production”.

One of the key features of this year's admissions process is the growing demand from companies for specialists in technological fields, including mechanical engineering, welding, casting, stamping, and plastic forming. This is due not only to personnel needs but also to the technological transformation of production, which is why the university regularly strengthens the practical component of its training.

A key feature of this year's targeted admissions program is that the entire target quota is detailed, meaning that targeted spots are allocated to specific clients and only based on their requests.

The number of targeted places in the new conditions, however, remained almost at the level of last year - 509 places, including 423 places in bachelor's/specialty programs. The total number of customers is 59. This quota was almost entirely supported by targeted proposals before the start of the reception.

You can learn more about the progress of the admissions campaign from the conversation between the rector of Tula State University Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko and the host of the “Lanterns” program of the First Tulsky TV channel Sergei Zverev.
