Tula State University is waiting for applicants from Tanzania and Zanzibar
From November 23 to 26, the Russian House in Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania, hosted an educational exhibition-presentation “Russian Education for Africa”.
Representatives of the following Russian universities spoke to the future students: Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI", St. Petersburg Mining University, Southern Federal University and Tula State University.
The exhibition-presentation was solemnly opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania Andrey Levonovich Avetisyan, congratulating the Tanzanian applicants for the fact that "they have made the right choice of the country for getting higher education." In total, the event was attended by 350 guests - young people from Tanzania, who are dreaming of getting education in Russia, and their parents.
Applicants from Tanzania and Zanzibar were really able to look at our university through the eyes of their compatriots - Tanzanian students, and also noted with surprise that they did not know how culturally and historically rich the city of Tula is - the fact that it is officially "the third museum capital of Russia" after Moscow and St. Petersburg also worked in favor of choosing Tula State University.
On November 26, representatives of Russian universities visited the Dar es Salam Institute of Technology, where they held a presentation of universities and their educational programs for its students who showed interest in continuing their education at Russian universities in technical and engineering areas at Master's programs.
During the visit, it was also possible to discuss a draft memorandum of cooperation with representatives of the Dar es Salam Institute of Technology in terms of organizing the work of summer schools in the Russian language for students of the institute and their participation in different conferences on at Tula State University.
Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova noted: “This is the third visit of Tula State University representatives to the Russian House in Dar es Salaam and the 4th participation in this educational exhibition-presentation. The result of systematic participation was an increase in the number of citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania in the general student population of our univerity, which serves to achieve the goals of the Priority 2030 program. In the next academic year, we expect that 12 more Tanzanian applicants will choose Tula State University. I would like to express special gratitude to Maria Vladimirovna Pateeva, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Tanzania, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office, for her work to promote and strengthen the ideas of good neighborliness between Russia and friendly Tanzania, as well as for showing extraordinary sensitivity with the support of the citizens of Tanzania as at the stage of organizing educational exhibitions for them with participation of Russian universities and the selection of candidates from Tanzania to study at Russian universities within the scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation, and at the stage of their education at Tula State University."
