Institute of International Education is the most original, diverse, and multicultural institute of Tula State University, where foreign citizens from different countries of the world have been studying for 60 years.

A long time ago, in 1962 the first students from Bulgaria arrived to study at Tula State University, and year by year the number of students from different countries of the world has been constantly increasing.

At the moment, citizens of 70 countries of the world are studying at the Institute of International Education. The majority are from the countries of the Middle East, Africa, Vietnam, as well as the CIS and neighboring countries. The students population includes students from European countries as well (Bulgaria, Portugal, Croatia).

There are 1023 foreign citizens in total, who are taking Bachelor Programs, Master Programs, Specialist Programs and the pre-university course of Russian.

Institute of High Precision Systems named after V.P. Gryazev was established on August 1, 2009 on the basis of the Faculty of Mechanics and Control Systems as part of a comprehensive reorganization of the structure of Tula State University. The established institute was named after Vasily Petrovich Gryazev, an outstanding design engineer of small arms and cannon weapons, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of the national defense industry, a graduate and subsequently head of the Department of Small Arms and Cannon Armament, which is part of the Institute.

The Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science was established in 2014 on the basis of the Faculty of Cybernetics (founded in 1963) and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics (founded in 1996).

The main goal of creating the institute is the development of mathematical and information education in the Tula region and Russia as a whole, deepening integration with leading specialized institutions, concentration of scientific potential in the field of information technology. Education at the institute provides training in the field of information technology, information security, programming, mathematical analysis and modeling. Students study modern programming languages, computer architecture and computer networks, operating systems, databases, information security tools, mathematical models of objects of varying complexity. They acquire skills in the development and use of mathematical, software and hardware, information security tools for automated systems, artificial intelligence methods, etc.

The history of the training of mining specialists began on the basis of the mining department of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology on October 5, 1950.

In 1955, the educational building of the Tula Mining Institute was built - now the 1st educational building of Tula State University. The Tula Mining Institute consisted of mining and mine construction faculties.

In 1959, the mine-building faculty of the Tula Mining Institute was transformed into the Faculty of Civil Engineering. In 2014, the Faculty of Mining and Construction was transformed into the Institute of Mining and Construction of Tula State University.*

The Polytechnic Institute of Tula State University was founded on March 15, 2010 on the basis of the Faculty of Technology. The Polytechnic Institute is one of the largest in the Russian Federation, which trains qualified personnel for various industries. The Natural Science Institute was established in 1994 as a "Center for Fundamental Training", and this focus of its educational and scientific activities has not only been preserved, but also further developed. The basis for the organization of the faculty was the need to strengthen the natural science training of students of all specialties available at the university and to expand the set of areas and specialties at Tula State University that provide training for specialists in classical natural sciences: physics, chemistry, technical physics, metal physics, etc. The work is carried out within the framework of the general direction for the natural science institute on the development of biosensors, biofuel cells, biopreparations and biotechnologies for environmental protection.

The Institute of Pedagogy, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism was established in 2017 by joining the Department of Theory and Methods of Education to the Institute of Physical, Sports and Tourism. The history of the institute dates back to the opening of the specialty "Physical Culture and Sports", which was opened in 1995 and on October 1, 2014 it was separated into an independent faculty (with the addition of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Industry) of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, which began its work in the structure of the Medical Institute of Tula State University. The main goal of the institute is to maintain and strengthen the position of the regional center for the development of physical culture, sports and tourism, the training of highly qualified specialists, executives and scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism, in demand at the regional, all-Russian and world levels, capable of effective and fruitful work.

The Institute of Law and Management was formed in 2014 as a result of the merger of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics and Management and today is one of the largest in the structure of Tula State University. Today, the institute is a successfully developing community of experienced scientists and young researchers known in the scientific community, outstanding teachers, graduate students, and bright students. The Institute of Law and Management plays a consolidating role in the scientific and pedagogical space of the Tula region, being the center of scientific and educational activities in the field of jurisprudence and economics.

The Institute of Law and Management is proud of its graduates, who hold senior positions in the prosecutor's office, the investigative committee, internal affairs bodies, banking, advocacy and notaries, business, social and political activities, education and science. University graduates have always been distinguished by high professionalism and deep knowledge, and this is the undoubted merit of the teaching staff.

The Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences begins its history in the late 80s of the 20th century. The country has come to realize that scientific and technological progress should be carried out within the framework of a holistic culture, that higher education should not only give the student knowledge of a certain professional orientation, but also help him in understanding the meaning of human values in the modern world, and the university should lay the foundation for social initiative and ability to work with the person and for the person. All this determined the need to choose the line of humanitarization of higher technical education. One of the priority areas for the development of the institute is the establishment, strengthening and expansion of international relations. Cooperation consists in joint holding of conferences, publications of scientific research in collections of scientific papers, academic mobility of students. Trainings, lectures, seminars by leading representatives of scientific schools from the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Poland, Lithuania have always aroused great interest among the students of the Institute.

The Medical Institute implements educational programs of higher, postgraduate and additional education, performs fundamental and applied scientific research in medical and biological sciences and operates in accordance with the license and on the basis of these Regulations and the Charter of Tula State University within the framework of the current legislation of the Russian Federation. The Medical Institute was established as part of the Tula State University in 2007.
