Delegation of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation in TSU

On April 17, a delegation of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation, represented by the First Secretaries of the Embassy, Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa and Mr. Le Kong Bang, paid a working visit to Tula State University. Distinguished guests of the Vietnamese diplomatic mission at TSU were received by Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities Olesya Evgenievna Labadze, Chief Accountant of the University Elena Valerievna Kondratieva, acting Head of the International Relations Department Natalya Nikolaevna Kudinova, and Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova, Director of the Institute of International Education. The Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities Olesya Evgenievna Labadze addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. – Russia is a current ally of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Soviet Union was one of the first countries in the world to recognize and officially establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, laying the foundation for strong friendship and cooperation between our countries. And in July 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov called Vietnam a “key partner” of Russia,” Olesya Evgenievna noted, emphasizing that in the light of the foregoing, the training of highly qualified personnel for both countries is of great importance and relevance.

During the working meeting, the most important issues for both sides were discussed. Among them are the training of personnel for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam under the Debt-Help program, as well as prospects for cooperation in a number of areas: Summer and Winter schools in various fields (in Russian and English), the International Summer School of the Russian Language, History and Culture (for candidates from Vietnam), Summer School in Project Management and Entrepreneurship (including in English), academic student exchange programs, short-term scientific internship programs in university laboratories (including in English), as well as joint research in the field of ecology and biotechnology and engineering areas. The parties showed mutual interest in possible points of contact in terms of cooperation in the field of education, science and culture. Conducting a presentation of TSU, Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities noted that TSU has been preparing Vietnamese citizens for a variety of training programs, including postgraduate studies, for more than 30 years. Every year, with the participation of scientific supervisors from TSU, Vietnamese graduate students defend their Ph.D. theses. At the moment, 54 citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam are studying at TSU. They study under the programs of pre-university training, bachelor's, specialist's, master's, postgraduate and residency programs. Taking into account the interest of TSU in maintaining and increasing the number of Vietnamese citizens studying at the university, and creating comfortable conditions for them to study and live, as well as for their self-development and formation, the parties agreed to continue mutually beneficial cooperation.
