About past and present without falsification
April 26 at the Institute of Law and Management of Tula State University held a round table "Falsification of history: past and present."
It was organized by the Department of History of State and Law.
Representatives of the scientific community of Tula and students of I-II courses took part in the round table.
This is the second year in a row that such an event has been held at our university. According to the Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of IGiP Sergey Nikolaevich Kovalev, his main goal is to prevent the rewriting of history and distortion of the facts of the past.
Several reports were made during the round table.
Representative of TSPU them. L.N. Tolstoy, researcher, author of the course on the history of Ukrainian nationalism Sergey Vladimirovich Fedoseev, in his work “Falsification of History on the Example of the Ukrainian Historical Concept”, drew a parallel between the activities of one of the leaders of the Ukrainian national movement Mikhail Sergeyevich Grushevsky and the content of modern Ukrainian textbooks.
Assistant of the Department of History of State and Law, TSU Milan Stoyanovich analyzed the tragic episode of the Bosnian War - the event in Srebrenica. The speaker focused his attention on some details of Russian-Serbian relations.
Associate professors of the Department of IGiP: Candidates of Historical Sciences Alexander Alexandrovich Dranishnikov and Natalia Vasilievna Chugunova, Candidate of Political Sciences Alexei Mikhailovich Savvin - touched upon the topic of distortion of the events of the Great Patriotic War in the Western media.
“Unfortunately, at present, in Western countries, there is a falsification of historical facts of the Second World War, and in particular the Great Patriotic War, and therefore it is extremely difficult for an ignorant young person to understand the true state of affairs,” Sergey Nikolayevich Kovalev emphasized. “That is why events are needed to help reveal the essence of the events of those years.
Sophomore of the direction "Jurisprudence" Dmitry Zubtsov heads the initiative group of the Youth Club of the Russian Historical Society of the Tula Region.
— For me, this is the second round table. In addition, I took part in events organized by the Russian Historical Society,” he said. - I am sure that knowledge of historical facts contributes to the correct placement of landmarks and a competent assessment of the events of the present. Opposing attempts to rewrite history and instill a sense of shame for the past of one's country plays a huge role in shaping the value system of youth and adolescents.
