Cooperation agreement

At the summit "Russia - Africa" agreements on bilateral cooperation between Tula State University and universities of African countries were signed.On July 27 and 28, the Russia-Africa summit was held in St. Petersburg, attended by representatives of 49 of the continent's 54 countries. Seventeen African states were represented at the summit. An economic and humanitarian forum was held in parallel with the summit.

The delegation of the Tula region, headed by the Minister of Economic Development of the Tula region Anton Emelianenko, included the Rector of Tula State University Oleg Kravchenko and Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities OlesyaLabadze.

Cooperation agreements were signed at the summit between Tula State University and Chinhoyi University of Technology (Zimbabwe), as well as between Tula State University and Makerere University (Uganda).The documents envisage the establishment of inter-university cooperation in the field of education and science.

The agreements reached imply:

- Organization and holding of joint scientific seminars, scientific-practical conferences, symposiums, etc.

;- preparation and realization of joint research projects, creation and functioning of creative author's teams for solving research and educational tasks;

- exchange of research and development results, publications, educational materials;

- exchange of experience in the implementation of advanced technologies and teaching methods, mutual assistance in the training of scientific personnel;

- development of academic mobility between higher education institutions, as well as cooperation in the field of training of highly qualified personnel.

Joint scientific developments and training of qualified personnel were among the issues discussed during the recent visit of representatives of African embassies to the Tula region.


As Alexey GennadyevichDyumin, Governor of the Tula Region, noted, "Our region is interested in developing cooperation with African states in trade and economic, educational, scientific research and social and cultural spheres. The agreements reached at the summit will contribute to strengthening the export potential of the Tula Region".
