Friends holding hands
On November 21, at Tula State University, with the support of the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Tula Region, the Festival of Students of Higher Education Organizations “Let's join hands, friends!” was held. 11 communities from Tula State University and 2 communities from Tula State Pedagogical University took part in it.
— This year, for the first time, the established community of the United Republic of Tanzania and the community of the Republic of Dagestan joined us. All these guys are students of our university,” said Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova, director of the Institute of International Education of Tula State University. “And the fact that our large international family has grown with new members, of course, cannot but rejoice.
The festival featured an exhibition of cultural and everyday objects from different countries. Everyone had the opportunity to try the national cuisine prepared with love. Each community tried to turn its exhibition space into a piece of their native land, to surprise and intrigue visitors. The tables were literally bursting with food. Their abundance not only pleased the eye, but also created a festive atmosphere. This always happens in friendly families when they welcome dear guests.
The climax of the Festival was the speech of the Minister of Youth Policy of the Tula Region, Alexey Faritovich Davletshin. At the height of the event, he gave a countdown of 100 days to the start of the World Youth Festival, which, according to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, will be held from March 1 to 7, 2024 on the federal territory of Sirius.
Alexey Faritovich urged students to be sure to apply for participation in the Festival in order to adequately represent their region among the 130 delegates from the Tula region.
It’s great, the minister said, that Tula State University preserves and continues long-standing traditions. The university hosts the World Football Championship, the Forum-festival “All Flags Come Visit Us”, and the Festival of Creativity “Student Spring”. All this helps bring students from different countries of the world closer together, introducing them to the history and culture of the different peoples inhabiting our planet.
The World Youth Festival, which is only 100 days away, said Vice-Rector for Educational Work Eduard Sergeevich Temnov, this is an important event not only for our country, but for the whole world.
The Tula region is the 71st region, and representatives of 71 states study at Tula State University. And here, the vice-rector emphasized, there is a certain symbolism.
- Study well, guys! - Eduard Sergeevich addressed the foreign students. - So that the knowledge gained here will definitely be useful in your homeland!
The Minister of Youth Policy and the Vice-Rector went to the generous Tajik table and tasted the treats offered to them. Juicy baklava, multi-colored halva, golden chak-chak not only exuded aroma, but also literally sounded like a hymn to Tajik hospitality. A fifth-year student at the Institute of International Education majoring in General Medicine, and a future neurologist, Umedjon Nasredinov from Tajikistan said that he submitted an application to participate in the World Youth Festival a month ago.
“They are considering my candidacy, and I’m waiting for an answer.” By the way, a record number of applications have been submitted, so the selection for the Festival is tough,” he shared. — I hope that I will successfully pass the competitive selection! And ahead of us is the Forum-festival “All the flags are visiting us!” A great event for our university! This is my fifth year as a presenter.
Mustafa Abdulhalem from Iraq, a fifth-year student at the Institute of International Education majoring in General Medicine, also applied to participate in the World Youth Festival. The guy wants to become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
— I really hope that I will pass this strict selection! - he admitted. “I’m just eager to defend the honor of my native Tula State University and my beloved city in which I study!”
Mustafa spoke with undisguised pride about the dishes prepared by the united community of Arab countries.
- Here's biryani. This is rice with meat, almonds, potatoes, carrots and seasonings. Can be cooked with lamb or beef. “I bought lamb,” he explained. - And here is the dzhadzhik salad. Its composition is simple, cucumbers, sour cream and mint leaves, but its taste is excellent. Our kitchen is absolutely amazing!
In 100 days, the World Youth Festival will sparkle in Sochi with all its colors. And today at Tula State University, friends from different countries joined hands and gave each other the joy of simple, but so necessary human communication in life. And this is worth a lot, because friendship and mutual understanding work wonders and call for new achievements.
We will cheer for our foreign students! We really want them to become participants in the World Youth Festival!
