Tula State University supports trends in technological entrepreneurship
On November 15, the results of the International Technology Accelerator were summed up at the BioChemTech Research Center.
As part of the project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform,” a club of technological entrepreneurs appeared at Tula State University, and students acquired connections with industrial partners and developed new technologies in accordance with the priorities of the socio-economic development of the region.
“Young entrepreneurs have come a long way before presenting their developments to experts for evaluation. Student teams were formed back in September during game design activities, after which the guys worked on design. Here, problems were identified, an audience was identified, a project roadmap was developed, and work was carried out on the design object,” Boris Evgenievich Popov, a technician at the Tula State University Project Office, spoke about the students’ entrepreneurial path.
Invited speakers helped develop the projects, who gave lectures, conducted seminars and workshops for three months.
“The demo day became the final pitch session with the participation of business representatives, industrial partners, and the regional administration. The projects will still receive the support they need in order to ultimately be implemented,” Boris Evgenievich commented on the further development of the projects. At the defense, students presented projects in the field of nano-, bio-, information, and cognitive technologies. We will tell you more about some of the projects.
Students proposed developing an application for students in grades 9-11. The project should help students decide on their future specialty and avoid mistakes when choosing a profession. In the application, you will be able to view the current schedule of events, news feed, users will have access to the function of tracking work with a psychologist, as well as a rating system among participants.
Another team presented a model of an unmanned device for cleaning water bodies. The operating principle of the robotic device resembles the operation of a robot vacuum cleaner. The drone collects small surface debris in a reservoir using movable nozzles, which change depending on the task at hand - collecting leaves from the surface of a reservoir or small debris (bottles, chips, cans, etc.). This development is capable of performing the functions of expensive treatment facilities with minimal material costs.
Tourists often face such problems - where to go, where to eat, how to have an interesting time. Therefore, young entrepreneurs from Tula State University decided to create an application for tourists that allows them to plot routes based on location, interests and available time. The application will allow you to include food points, places of rest, and attractions in your route. The project will contribute to the development of tourism and culture in the region. The projects are still at the development stage, but all students plan to refine their ideas and enter the real market.
The design work was assessed by invited experts: Elena Vasilyevna Zelentsova, head of the salary projects department of SberBank, Elena Andreevna Razumovskaya, deputy head of the Export Support Center, Dmitry Nikolaevich Algazin and Yulia Nikolaevna Manaenkova, representatives of the Higher Technical School. Business gurus gave advice to participants on how to improve their ideas. This program was definitely useful. Here I learned and understood how easy it is to create a project and promote it in real life. Probably the most valuable knowledge is how the grant system works in Russia, how to win them and implement your ideas. If we talk about formats, I liked gaming ones the most. For example, we once tried to complete a project in one day. During the game there is no feeling that you are learning, although at the same time it is a test of your knowledge. My team is ready to continue working on the project further. We want to develop an application for traveling in Tula, because we ourselves love to travel and want others to enjoy their travels,” Kirill Kurdaev shared his impressions after defending the project. “I was especially interested in the stage of formulating the idea, searching for problems, and identifying the audience. Here one could gain good skills in the economic and management fields. In general, it became clear that any product solves some problem. The most difficult stage for us was conducting a problem interview. We had to survey the audience our project was aimed at. This is a very energy-intensive process. I think our project is viable. We want to help schoolchildren decide on their future profession. We ourselves were recently at our desks, so the problem was relevant for us. It is necessary to help young people choose a specialty, this will help prepare highly qualified employees for the region,” Daria Dozorova said about her participation in the program.
