The main thing in international activities is continuity
On November 15, representatives of Tula State University - Vice-Rector for International and Project Activities Olesya Evgenievna Labadze and Director of the Institute of International Education Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova took part in the meeting of Vice-Rectors for International Activities of Russian Universities “International Activities of Russian Universities - an Instrument of Humanitarian Influence of the Russian Federation” at the Russian Friendship University peoples named after Patrice Lumumba.
The event was organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. During the meeting, issues related to the international activities of Russian universities in an era of global geopolitical challenges were discussed, when our country is forced to confront tough sanctions, including in the context of their impact on the international cooperation of universities.
The main speakers of the event were Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo; Larisa Ivanovna Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Activities of the RUDN University named after. Patrice Lumumba; Alexey Nikolaevich Levchenko, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Sphere of Higher Education of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science; Police Colonel Armen Lentoshevich Oganesyan, Head of the Department of Permits and Visa Work of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The round table “Migration legislation and employment of foreign citizens in Russian educational institutions of higher education” caused a particularly lively discussion. Representatives of Russian universities had the opportunity to ask questions that were relevant to them in an “open microphone” format and receive comprehensive answers from the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova: “Of course, a very useful meeting - an open platform for sharing experiences and discussing the most pressing issues of working with foreign students. I am close to the words of Larisa Ivanovna Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the RUDN University. Patrice Lumumba, that the main thing in international activities is continuity, and also that international affairs is a mini-MFA and mini-Rossotrudnichestvo in each individual university. And this is, of course, a huge responsibility.”
