Festival of International Friendship

Azerbaijan and Angola, Iraq and Cambodia, Vietnam and Tajikistan, Syria and Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia and Chad, Morocco and Camerun, Iran and Armenia ... Listing states whose citizens are studying at Tula State University can be a long process - there are more than seventy of them. The guys study hand by hand with Russian students, and the are friends with them and among themselves.

The project "We Welcome All the Flags!"  is not just a festival, but a large interregional and international forum. It is clear why it is international, but it is also interregional - because delegations of different universities come to Tula State University these days. In 2023 there are nine of them. They participated in the students conference “Russian Language through the Eyes of Foreigners”, and in the evening performed on stage, demonstrating the culture of the peoples of the world.

The creative part of the festival was preceded by the traditional exhibition of objects of culture and life of the countries of the world and the gastronomy presentation “Taste Mosaic”. Even if you used to visit the festival "We Welcome All the Flags!" or  maybe you visit it annually, every time you still cannot be but surprised at the abundance and beauty that represent the Community of students of Tula State University. And, of course, the love with which all this is prepared. And also, the hospitality of young people is amazing, their desire to introduce each guest to the culture of their country, be sure to treat them with a national dish.

“Why say anything, just try,” the fourth-year Tula State University med-student Shahboz Khayalov from Tajikistan welcomes to a big table. - All this is cooked in a real Tajik teahouse, which works near our university.

Indeed, Shahboz did not tell anything until the author of these lines tasted the delicious pilaf, manti and kurutoba. And when I tried everything, he concluded with a smile:

- Now everything is clear to you!

By the way, the Tajik community is one of the most numerous at Tula State University, the population of students from this country is more than one hundred and fifty. The guys tried to glory. There were enough treats to everyone! And also, the Tajiks are very cheerful people. They danced to national music so that the floor was trembling. It was difficult to resist and not to dance with them. Very difficult.

The fourth-year student of “Advertising & PR” program Đỗ Thanh Huyền had a responsible mission at this festival - to organize a tour around the historic center of Tula for the guests from other cities.

“This is part of my diploma paper,” the girl said at the table of Vietnamese Community. - It seems that everyone who walked with me liked everything: both Tula and my tour.

And on the table of Vietnamese students, traditional their nems reigned. It seems that this dish in our country does not need an additional introduction: those who cook it, wrap the delicious mixture of meat and vegetables in rice paper. By the way, the population of Vietnamese students at our university is more than fifty.

The medical resident Shavan is from Syria, along with the other Syrian med-students, he told us about the Cabce dish. The composition seems to be simple: rice, chicken, Arabic seasoning. And in the last ingredient, the mystery lies. What kind of seasoning is this, we asked the Syrians. Secret, there was an answer. That's it. The pilaf and the traditional rice with meat were very tasty as well.

You can describe the exhibition and gastronomy presentation for a long time, but it, like all the good, has quickly ended. Only to give way to the main event of the evening - the gala concert. According to the tradition, it is hosted by two students, the Russian one and the international one. For fifth-year med-student Umedjon Nasredinov, the current festival “We Welcome All the Flags!” is, accordingly, the fifth in a row, and the fifth time he is hosting it. The co-host was Tula State University graduate and employee of the university Student Club Anastasia Kosina.
