Festival greetings!

On the 14th of March Tula State University was visited by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Viktorovna Petrova.

The participants of the World Youth Festival from different countries, who were in the Tula region on that day, visited TulSU. Their visit was held within the framework of the implementation of the regional festival programme.

The chairman of the divisional election commitee Lyubov Viktorovna Aleksandrina presented the guests a nominal polling station dedicated to the World Youth Festival and told about the voting procedure.

The Deputy Minister and the foreign citizens had an opportunity to get acquainted with the exposition on display at the polling station. The symbols of the Youth Festivals of 1957, 1985, 2017 and 2024 were presented on it. All these four large-scale events were held in our country: the first two in the capital of the Soviet Union, Moscow, and the last two in the city of Sochi, already in the Russian Federation.

Foreigners handed over soft toys - Cheburashkas - to their Tula colleagues. The character, which has become a symbol of the World Youth Festival, will be a great gift for the first-time voters.

The acquaintance with the nominal polling station ended with a fascinating master class on making stamped gingerbread. The Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation did not deny herself the pleasure of learning the secrets of gingerbread masters.

And then Olga Viktorovna Petrova, Alexey Faritovich Davletshin, Minister of the Youth Policy of the Tula Region, and Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko, Rector of TulSU, talked to foreign citizens and representatives of our university who took part in the World Youth Festival.

For many foreigners and Russians, the Deputy Minister noted in her speech, this festival was the first one and it gave the guys a lot of positive impressions.

The guest expressed hope that foreign participants will carry their love for Russia through the years and share it with their close people.

- We are different, but we are equal! We are together! And this is the fundamental principle of the whole world, which will help us overcome difficulties! - she addressed the participants. - I am sure that you will become ambassadors of Russia and peaceful solutions to various problems.

Olga Viktorovna thanked the foreigners from the bottom of her heart for overcoming all the difficulties related to going through the procedures, making the long journey and turning up at the festival.

Tula region, said the Deputy Minister, is one of the important regions of the Russian Federation. And to understand the whole Russia, one should start from Tula. And Tula State University is one of the leading universities in Russia. It implements a wide range of training areas and specialities/majors. TulSU is a worthy place to study at master's and postgraduate programmes, to engage in serious research activities.

Olga Viktorovna expressed her gratitude to the university administration for the warm welcome and wished the foreign guests an interesting and fulfilling time on the Tula land.

It has become a good tradition to meet, - Oleg Kravchenko took the floor. Warm meetings always bring people together. And one of the main tasks of the World Youth Festival is to demonstrate the openness of our country.

- I hope you guys will fall in love with Russia! And come to study here. It is quite possible that you will meet your love here... - said Oleg Aleksandrovich. - I have a favour to ask of you. When you come back home, be sure to tell your family and friends about how good and warm it was in Russia, despite our frosty weather.
Alexey Faritovich Davletshin, in his turn, asked the Tula residents to make the guest's visit very interesting, and hoped that young people will go to all the most significant places from the cognitive point of view and will be imbued with the spirit of our region.
And to make the picture complete, Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko added, the guys need to immerse themselves in the environment, feel everything with their heart, and then tell their relatives about it, intrigue them and visit our country together with them in the future.
On behalf of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Nikolayevich Falkov, Olga Viktorovna Petrova presented Acknowledgements for the contribution to the development of higher education and for the tremendous input in the field of youth policy to the Rector of TulSU Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko and to the Vice-Rector for Educational Work Eduard Sergeevich Temnov.
After the meeting the participants were photographed for a long good memory.
