Pushkin is our everything!
On 28 May, the Department of Journalism of TulSU hosted a lecture commemorating the 225th anniversary of great Russian writer and poet A.S. Pushkin.
The lecture was organised by the assistant professor of the department, Tatiana Borisovna Bogatyreva.
Tatiana Borisovna began the lecture with the following words: “This lecture does not pretend to be original and innovative, moreover, this lecture is a little less, then popular science. It was designed for us to look at Pushkin`s poems that we know and discover something new and surprising in them.”
When we ask A Russian-speaking person or a foreigner about a famous Russian writer, they almost always name Aleksandr Sergeevich first. Pushkin is a treasure of our literature. He inspired many other famous writers who expressed their gratitude and admiration in their own creations.
Many things can be taken away from us, but Pushkin can never be taken away. He is still alive, with his subtle understanding of life's tragedy and at the same time with a great love for it.
The lecture was also attended by foreign students who were keen to learn more about linguistic analysis of Russian classics.
Tatyana Borisovna analysed Pushkin's famous works familiar to the students, including an excerpt from "Eugene Onegin", the poem "Madonna" and many others.
Nikita Gorbenko, a 2-nd year student of Journalism, shared his impressions of the lecture.
- The lecture was conducted in a beautiful atmosphere because Tatyana Borisovna has always skilfully combined simplicity of wording understandable to everyone, even those who are not passionate about literature, and the depth of knowledge.
This is how students plunged into Pushkin's lyrics, analysed his love experiences and worldly reflections in just one lecture.
