Open Doors Day at the Institute of International Education
On 13 December, the Institute of International Education of Tula State University held an Open Doors Day for foreign candidates studying under the pre-university training programme.
Yuliya Akhapkina, Head of the International Students Recruitment Department of the Institute of International Education, offered a presentation “TulSU through the eyes of international students”, accompanying it with a story about the university and its educational opportunities. She was assisted by Victoriya Andreyevna Alyoshina, Senior Inspector of the International Students Recruitment Department, and Talel Benltaief, a student from Tunisia. They provided translation into English, Arabic and French to ensure that important information reached each international candidate, as they are still making their first steps in learning Russian.
Tula State University, said Yuliya Anatolyevna, is one of the largest educational institutions in Central Russia. Next year it will be 95 years old. And now representatives of 70 countries of the world receive education at TulSU.
- We hold this Open Day to tell students about educational programmes and the departments and institutes implementing them, about the specifics of the educational process and opportunities for academic mobility, about the University's Summer Schools and opportunities to study at its Digital Department, about research activities and scholarships, about the campus infrastructure and vibrant student life. And, of course, about the Hero-City of Tula - the city of gunsmiths, samovars and gingerbread, the ‘third museum capital’ of Russia, the birthplace of the greatest Leo Tolstoy - the city that has already become so dear and favourite for many foreign students of TulSU, - Yuliya Anatolyevna emphasised.
An important part of the Open Doors Day was a training seminar for foreign candidates on how to correctly apply for education within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation in the state information system ‘Education in the Russian Federation for Foreign Citizens’ - http://Education-in-russia.com .
The quota of the Russian Federation Government for education of foreign citizens and stateless persons is an excellent opportunity to study on educational programmes of higher education in Russian higher education institutions at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation, i.e. free of charge.
Applications for study in Russia within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation will be accepted until 15 January 2025.
