Artificial intelligence united Tula State University and Hanoi University
Specialists of Tula State University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are sharing advanced machine learning technologies with each other during their ongoing scientific internship in Vietnam.
Laboratorians of Cognitive Technologies and Simulation Systems of TulSU Andrey Valeryevich Kopylov and Oleg Sergeyevich Seredin are serving an internship at the International Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (BKAI) of the School of Information and Communication Technologies (SOICT) of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). Arriving in Vietnam on 4 December, they were introduced to the organisation and structure of BKAI, its research areas and current projects. They participated in a workshop organised by the AI Basic Models Laboratory.
Every day, specialists from Tula University communicate with leading scientists from Vietnam, study and exchange experience in the field of methods and technologies of artificial intelligence developed in this international centre. They are involved in projects related to the intellectual analysis of human activity, study the training parameters of deep neural networks and methods of optimising their work.
The scientific internship is held within the framework of the TulaTech Research and Education Centre and the development of cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. TulSU is actively building up competences in the field of AI: in cooperation with leading educational and scientific organisations, new areas of Master's degree training have been opened, the IT module is integrated into all educational programmes implemented by the university.
- It is not the first year we have been cooperating with Hanoi University, especially close scientific ties are established with Dr Dinh Viet Sang, Deputy Executive Director of BKAI, Head of the Laboratory of Basic AI Models,’ said A.V. Kopylov. - Since 2016, we have published six joint scientific papers. At the moment there are close scientific directions of the laboratory of cognitive technologies and simulation systems of TulSU and BKAI laboratories, especially in the field of application of intelligent methods of data analysis in chemistry, bioinformatics and medicine. We are discussing the continuation of co-operation and the conclusion of an agreement between the universities.
As noted by TulSU specialists, participation in seminars and workshops will allow them to gain new competences and learn new tools and technologies. Presentations and discussions with leading BKAI researchers will create a platform for sharing experience and knowledge, which promotes the development of new ideas and approaches in research activities. During the internship, which will last until 16 December, there was planned a participation in an international symposium on information and communication technologies organised in Da Nang.
