Of Smart Agriculture, the Environment, and Youth
Tula State University students discovered a lot while participating in the regional youth agricultural forum, "AGROPROdvizhenie. "Agriculture is a driver of the economy. The industry is rapidly developing, and is now highly technological and modern. This requires new approaches to training specialists and strengthening the scientific component.These and other areas are the focus of the "AGROPROdvizheniye" forum, which is being held in the Tula Region from September 20 to 25.
Eight hundred young rural professionals and students majoring in agriculture from over forty regions across the country are participating in the forum. Over the course of the week, they will acquire skills and competencies in the agro-industrial sector and learn about leading companies, their products, and modern modern exhibition samples of agricultural equipment.On the opening day, September 20, the forum was attended by Tula Region Governor Dmitry Vyacheslavovich Milyayev, who noted that modern agriculture is not only about farming but also about innovation, technology, and great prospects for professional growth.
"Feeding people is a noble profession," said the head of the region. "I very much hope that the forum's program—educational, business, cultural, and sportive — will allow you to make friends, learn new things about the Tula region, and, most importantly,reassure you that each of you has chosen the right path in life and your profession. I sincerely wish you to remain true to your profession!"
The governor explained that Tula Region is systematically developing municipal youth support infrastructure, spoke about social programs aimed at supporting parents and children, and the implementation of the "Hero71" project. D.V. Milyayev supported the youth's proposal to create systemic associations of young people interested in agriculture and the food industry.

students are participating in the"AGROPROdvizheniye" forum, and university specialists are supporting the business and educational program. Specifically, a lecture on the relationship between agriculture and global environmental issues by Yelena Mikhaylovna Volkova, Head of the Biology Department, is planned. The scientist will discuss preventing consequences such as soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and the fight against greenhouse gases.
A key feature of the 2025 forum is its emphasis on the comprehensive development of young people living in rural communities and their integration into both youth policy and agriculture. Each day is full of events for participants.
"We learned a lot both within o
ur specialty and beyond it, which is nevertheless useful for broadening our horizons and developing our competencies," said Alexandra Korenkova, a fourth-year Biology student at the Tula State University Institute of Natural Sciences. "The forum is organized into four main tracks: AGROtech, AGROmarket, AGROpeople, and AGROcareer. Each track features speakers from specialists and professionals in their respective fields, and each track is important and interesting in its own way, so we want to learn as much as possible about them. I'd like to express huge gratitude to the organizers for such a great program. And of course, forums like these provide an opportunity to meet students from different regions and share and exchange experiences."
