Dmitry Milyaev: Student years are a time of freedom, a time of making your first independent decisions

On January 23, ahead of Russian Student Day, Governor Dmitriy Milyaev met with students from Tula universities and colleges at Leo Tolstoy University. Among the participants were Tula State University students and Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko.

The Governor engaged in an open dialogue with those present and noted that today's students have ample opportunities for development and fulfillment in both educational and social, creative, and athletic pursuits.

"Student years are a time of freedom, a time of making your first independent decisions, a time of hope and aspirations for the future. I sincerely wish that your education be as interesting, varied, and rewarding as possible, and that your professional career be successful!" the Governor said.

Dmitriy Milyaev told the students about his student years and answered their questions. Specifically, the discussion focused on support measures for students, student families, and young professionals, as well as the implementation of the demographic standard.

During the meeting, the opportunities for student participation in the development of the Tula region were discussed, as were the organization and holding of events dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the 85th anniversary of the Tula Defensive Operation, the 50th anniversary of Tula being awarded the honorary title of "Hero City," the 880th anniversary of the founding of Tula, as well as large-scale forums and events (Engineers of the Future, AGROPROdvizhenie, the Congress of Physical Education Teachers, etc.).

The students proposed creating student sports leagues in the region, similar to school leagues. This would help build collaboration between universities, secondary vocational schools, and regional sports federations to increase student sports participation.

The governor emphasized the importance of student feedback.
