Future doctors study and practice in regional medical centers

The Regional Perinatal Center is the clinical base of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at TulSU Medical Institute.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors — practicing doctors of the center — future doctors get acquainted with prenatal care, monitor the course of labor, learn to assess the condition of newborns and work in a team. For future obstetricians and gynecologists, practice at the perinatal center is becoming an important stage of professional development.

"When you read about the pathology of pregnancy or childbirth in a textbook, that's one thing, but when you see everything with your own eyes, you hear a doctor talking to a woman, making a decision in a difficult situation, it's completely different. You understand that medicine is not only knowledge, but also a huge responsibility and a human attitude," says Alina, a 4th—year student.

Many students plan to return to the perinatal center as young specialists after graduation. Today, the center employs 63 doctors who graduated from the TulSU Medical Institute. Among them are doctors of the emergency department, obstetricians and gynecologists and neonatologists.

Attracting and training qualified medical personnel is one of the key directions of the national project "Long and active life"
