Deputy of the Tula Regional Duma of the 7th convocation, founder of the Levsha Digital media holding and head of the Tula Press news agency Ilya Vladimirovich Stepanov met with students of the journalism department.

The meeting was held in an informal setting in the coworking space of TSU. The event was attended by Boris Anatolyevich Igraev, Head of the Department of Journalism, and Irina Alexandrovna Batanina, Director of the Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Ilya Vladimirovich said that the region pays great attention not only to technical education, but also to the humanities, noted that he was at the university on behalf of the First Deputy Governor of the Tula Region Vyacheslav Andreyevich Fedorishchev. The head of the news agency demonstrated by personal example that all the desired goals are feasible. In the 2000s, he began his career as a sound engineer, was the head of the production of media content. Later he became the founder of an advertising agency and the Tula Showcase magazine. Today, his main business is the Tula Press news agency. During the meeting, Ilya Vladimirovich and Boris Anatolyevich recalled significant events in the life of Tula journalism. An experienced manager shared with students various aspects in the management process: emerging difficulties and achievements of the company. In turn, the students were interested in the peculiarities of working in the regional media, how best to start their career path, where to look for sources of inspiration for productive work. A hot topic was the use of neural networks in journalism. We came to a common conclusion: in the future, it is worth labeling articles written by artificial intelligence and humans differently. The work of professionals will always be valued more. The guys came up with a proposal to establish a special scholarship as a way to stimulate future journalists. Ilya Stepanov wished the children to enjoy their profession and realize their full potential. - It's nice to communicate with an experienced person, you immediately feel the motivation to achieve heights in your business.
