About Far-Far Away Russia So Loved By the Tanzanians

On March 23-25, the Russian House in Dar es Salaam (United Republic of Tanzania) hosted an educational exhibition-presentation of Russian universities “Russian Education for Africa”, in which Olga Dmitrievna Gladkova, PhD, Director of Institute of International Education at Tula State University, took part.
Only on the first day of exhibition, accompanied by relatives and friends, it was attended by more than 150 potential applicants from Tanzania, who were interested in getting higher education in Russia.
Representatives of Russian universities, who arrived in Dar es Salaam, made presentations of their universities: Tula State University, Russian University of Peoples' Friendship named after Patrice Lumumba, Sevastopol State University, Tver State Medical University, Higher School of Economics.
A number of Russian universities presented their programs online. Among them there were: Kuzbass State Agricultural Academy, Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Tyumen Industrial University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Maikop State University, State University of Land Management, Don State Technical University, Russian Technological University, Irkutsk State Agrarian University, St. Petersburg Pediatric Medical University, Volgograd State Agrarian University, Perm State National Research University, Amur State Medical Academy, Yugra State University, Ural Federal University.
During the exhibition-presentation, Tanzanian applicants received comprehensive information about educational programs, educational process, academic mobility opportunities, scientific activities, scholarships, infrastructure and student life in Russia.
Tanzanian graduates of Russian universities, as well as students from Tanzania, who are already studying at Russian universities, spoke to the applicants. They shared the information about their studies and life in Russia, that is so far away, but so beloved by the Tanzanians.
After the presentation of Russian universities, exhibition visitors were invited to the interviews, during which representatives of Russian universities were able to individually talk with each applicant, advise them on admissions and application for a scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation, help them choose the most suitable educational program and, of course, answer all their questions.
The presentation-exhibition worked for three days and was held at the Russian House in Dar es Salaam.
