"Good Mission"
In March 2023, a large-scale humanitarian mission took place in the Syrian Arab Republic in order to eliminate the consequences of a tragic natural disaster - a devastating earthquake in the territories of Syria and Turkey.
The humanitarian mission was organized as part of an international project and implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian House), the Association of Volunteer Centers and the Russian Humanitarian Mission in partnership with Russian humanitarian organizations.
With the assistance of the All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Red Cross" (RRC), a delegation consisting of 10 specialists and volunteers went to Syria: two psychosocial support specialists, five volunteer doctors, and a humanitarian aid specialist.
Among the volunteer doctors, Anas Munzer, a Tula State University medical resident, who is taking Endocrinology program, took part in the humanitarian mission.
The work of mobile units of the RRC to help the victims was deployed in the Syrian city of Latakia.
The RRC humanitarian mission team cooperated with Syrian colleagues for two weeks with the support of the authorities of Latakia, the Syrian Red Crescent, the Al-Arin Charitable Foundation, the Russian House in Syria.
During its work in Syria, the RRC humanitarian mission provided support to over 1,000 people - more than 330 citizens received medical assistance and almost 800 received psychosocial support.
– The participation of the Syrian medical resident of Tula State University in the humanitarian mission of the RRC is a reason for pride, as he was in the top ten of the most worthy, most philanthropic representatives of the medical profession and fulfilled his duty both to the Motherland and to the Russian Federation, which gave him medical education, - the director of Institute of International Education O.D. Gladkova commented.
– It is a great honor for me to participate, together with the Russian Red Cross team, in this great international humanitarian work. This mission gave me great experience and the opportunity to make new acquaintances, colleagues and friends whom I have the honor to know, - Anas Munzer shared his impressions.
