Be active, student, and you will be heard!
Students should be included in the implementation of the state youth policy and participate actively in the projects implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. This was discussed at the meeting of the Ministry administration and Rosmolodyozh leadership with students of the Tula region on 24 January, which was attended by the representatives of TulSU.
Grigoriy Aleksandrovich Gurov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, and Olga Viktorovna Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, paid a working visit to the Tula Region on the eve of the Day of Russian Students. The meeting with students of universities, colleges and technical schools of the region was also attended by Deputy Governor of the Tula region Alexey Faritovich Davletshin and Chairman of the Board of the All-Russian public state movement of children and youth “Movement of the First” Artur Valeryevich Orlov.
In the open dialogue format young people asked questions to the guests. In particular, Ivetta Volodina, a third-year student of Political Science at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of TulSU, noted that one of the priority directions in youth policy is patriotic.
- Today, we have introduced the subject “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” into the educational process in higher education organisations, and more time has been devoted to patriotism in some areas of study, Ivetta said. She enquired about further development of the direction and staffing.
According to O.V. Petrova, universities are fully staffed to teach the basics of Russian statehood. The deputy minister reminded that this course has been implemented for two years on the instructions of the head of state. It includes, among other things, a regional component.
- We believe that a block on patriotism should be integrated into all educational programmes, Olga Viktorovna said. - You can become one of those who will help us promote this knowledge. Patriotism is a national idea, that unites everyone, it is the basis. And, of course, we need to promote the corresponding values.
Nikita Gorbenko, a third-year student of Journalism at TulSU, asked about plans to develop media at universities. G.A. Gurov answered the question:
- We can do anything, but if we don't tell and show it, nothing will happen. It`s necessary to form a space of values in terms of visualisation, words and so on. Our task now is to link media teams in the regions. We know that there are successful student media projects in the Tula region. We have the opportunity to place materials at the federal level.
O.V. Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, added that the ministry forms the media rating of universities, and students can help their university to move up in it.
Olga Slav, a master's student of TulSU, asked about family issues. Olga Viktorovna Petrova once again thanked the TulSU administration for supporting the departmental kindergarten “Solnyshko”, as well as for the organisation of the mother and child room.
- We are constantly thinking about it, so that our young people could bring up a child without taking a break from the educational process, said Olga Viktorovna. - Here we are also talking about young teachers. And the general goal is to have more young student families. Now, according to our calculations, there are about 22 thousand of them. The number of children in them is somewhat less, but we have something to strive for.
Roman Sudakov, a student of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at TulSU and an active volunteer, told that last year he won the All-Russian TechnoMentors project. According to him, the practice of digital volunteering has been launched in Russia. Roman asked when will it reach the Tula region.
The head of Rosmolodyozh recalled the “large and multifaceted platform Добро.рф (Dobro.rf)”, where information on support measures and areas of volunteerism is constantly updated. - Digital volunteering is very important, said G.A. Gurov. - The areas are very different: helping the older generation to understand digital services, helping with digital television, and so on. If you have any suggestions, be sure to send them to us. We will expand the functionality of the platform!
