By September 1, 2027, a major renovation of Dormitory No. 7 at Tula State University will be completed.
Large-scale renovation work is currently underway. The renovation covers an area of 4,056 square meters. Five floors of the dormitory have already been transformed beyond recognition.
During the renovation, all utility systems will be completely replaced. The rooms have been reconfigured: each will now have a shower and toilet, and will accommodate no more than three people.
Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko, Vice Rector for General Affairs and Information Technologies Vladimir Ivanovich Grigoryev, Acting Director of Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tula State University Anastasia Aleksandrovna Lavrikova, and representatives of contractors participated in the inspection of the work.
Anastasia Aleksandrovna noted that students from her institute will be living in this dormitory. The students are eagerly awaiting their move-in. There's still a year of renovation work ahead, but the level of transformation is already impressive. Today, the institute's students live in separate buildings, but in a year, everyone will be housed in a single, modern space. It's especially gratifying that unnecessary partitions have been removed, making the spaces more open and comfortable.
Oleg Aleksandrovich emphasized that students entering the institute now should be involved in discussions about the use and design of the dormitory spaces. Students in creative industries will be living here, so it's important that the environment reflects their interests and needs. The university is looking forward to receiving student proposals soon.
Vladimir Ivanovich spoke in detail about the roof and façade renovations, as well as the redesign of the recreational areas. He noted that utility line replacements will be completed this year, and the building will be heated this winter.
Once the renovations are complete, Dormitory No. 7 will accommodate 311 people.
