Talking about Family and Children with Rector

On July 8, the All-Russian Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, when the Russian Orthodox Church honors Saints Peter and Fevronia, Tula State University rector, Oleg Alexandrovich Kravchenko, met with university employees who have three or more children in "Kafedra" Cafe.

The event was organized by the trade union committee of workers of our university.

Tula State University is rich in large families. There are 26 of them at university. In honor of the holiday, all families with three or more children under the age of eighteen were provided with one-time financial assistance in the amount of 5 thousand rubles.

Arseniy Alexandrovich Ignatov, senior lecturer at the Department of Urban Engineering, Architecture and Design, of Institute of Mining and Civil Engineering, has eight children. Nikita is twenty-eight, Igor is twenty-two, Alexander is twenty, Anna is sixteen, Mikhail is thirteen, Ivan is six, Varvara is two, and Viktor is one.

Igor studies at Medical Institute, and Alexander at Institute of High-Precision Systems named after V.P. Gryazev.

Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology of Medical Institute Irina Vladimirovna Perelomova is a happy mother of five children.

The eldest son Leo is twenty-four years old and he graduated from Medical Institute this year. Alexandra is eighteen years old, Nikolai is fifteen, Peter is nine, and the youngest Valechka is seven.

Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Justice and Law Enforcement of the Institute of Law and Management Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Uryupina had her first working day today after her maternity leave.

The teacher has three kids: eight-year-old Anna, six-year-old Ksenia and three-year-old Ioan.

“I am sure that the key to a successful family life lies in the desire of both spouses to build a strong family,”  Nadezhda Aleksandrovna said. “All hardships can be overcome if you show respect and patience to each other. And, of course, love is the main engine of a happy family."

Olga Vitalievna Treshcheva is an assistant and PhD student of the Department of Mechanics of Materials at Institute of Mining and Civil Engineering, and her husband Alexander Vladimirovich, a combat veteran, is now a military pensioner.

The couple have six children. The eldest Anna is twenty-two years old, Sophia is nineteen years old, Tikhon is fifteen, Pelageya is fourteen, Ivan is ten, and Sergei is three and a half years old.

- You can say that I grew up at Tula State University. This is my second home! Olga Vitalievna said. - As for the family, we are both convinced that we need to cherish each other today and now!

…The rector congratulated the employees with many children on the holiday. Such people, he emphasized, are valuable for our society.

Oleg Alexandrovich said that he has two children and he perfectly understands how difficult it is to raise and put three or more children on their feet.

All parents were given gifts and bouquets of flowers.

And then the conversation began. We talked about children, the role of parents, the psycho-emotional factor in the family, the educational function of the university.

The participants of the meeting did not bypass the issues related to the reform of higher education, the learning process, the implementation of nuclear programs at university, training, and youth research laboratories. And they even discussed a hypothetical technological singularity and its consequences for civilization.

Each employee had the opportunity to express their point of view in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
