All of them were admitted to our university on a fee-paying basis.
Yuliya Anatolyevna Akhapkina, Head of the International Student Recruitment Department, spoke with the students. Her presentation was translated into French and Arabic by Fekih Sid-Ahmet, a third-year student at the Medical Institute from Algeria, and into English by Victoriya Andreyevna Alyoshina, Senior Inspector of the same department.
Yuliya Anatolyevna introduced the students to the region's flagship university.
Tula State University, she explained, is one of the largest higher education institutions in Central Russia. Founded back in 1930, it has since become a leading scientific and educational center in the Tula region.
Tula State University has approximately 20,000 students, including representatives from 70 countries.
The university offers 49 undergraduate programs, 45 master's programs, 14 specialist programs, 53 doctoral programs, 24 clinical residency programs, 15 secondary vocational education programs, and one specialist program in English (General Medicine).
Tula State University offers high-quality education, cutting-edge research, a well-developed infrastructure, and a vibrant and eventful student life.
The university has extensive experience in training students from abroad. International students not only gain a solid education but also actively participate in creative arts festivals, forums, conferences, and olympiads at various levels, winning prizes in the "Best Graduate of Tula State University" competition, which is extremely popular among young people.
Yuliya Anatolyevna continued that many foreigners who studied in Tula forever retain a love for this heroic city. Its legendary history stretches back centuries. Modern Tula is a major industrial and cultural center, the third museum capital of Russia. It is located just 200 kilometers from Moscow, almost in the heart of Russia.
The speaker emphasized that Tula State University is located in the center of the arms capital. The university offers all the conditions for comfortable study, creative development, and a fulfilling student experience.
After speaking about Tula and Tula State University, Yuliya Anatolyevna moved on to a very important topic for the students.
In Russia, she said, it is possible to study for free. In 2025, 30,000 places were allocated for foreign citizens to study under the Russian Government's quota.
The accepting of applications for study in Russia within the 2026/2027 quota have already begun. The application period will run until January 15, 2026.
The competitive selection process consists of two stages. The first is conducted through Rossotrudnichestvo in the candidate's country of residence, and the second is conducted by the educational institutions themselves, willing to accept foreign citizens from among the candidates selected in the first stage.
Yuliya Anatolyevna explained the international students in detail how to apply for a Russian Government quota.
At the end of the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to ask speaker the questions.
