Tula State University is a scholarship record holder

Tula State University has become the leader among universities in the Central Federal District in the number of students awarded Presidential and Government scholarships in 2025.

The awards ceremony for the winners of the "Russian Scholarship Holder: Course to the Future" program took place on December 16 in Moscow. Talented students from universities in the Central Federal District were awarded at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The "Russian Scholarship Holder: Course to the Future" program is implemented as part of the national "Education" project with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. It aims to support students who demonstrate high academic, scientific, and social achievements. Ceremonies will be held in all federal districts in December 2025. Tula State University led the Central Federal District in terms of the number of scholarship recipients: eleven students received Presidential scholarships and 49 students received Government scholarships. The scholarship amounts have been significantly increased since last year, now amounting to 30,000 rubles and 20,000 rubles per month, respectively.

Ceremony participants received badges and commemorative statues, as well as letters of gratitude to their parents. At a meeting with young scientists, President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that the state is obligated to support key research to ensure competitive products enter the market, as Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District Igor Olegovich Shchegolev reiterated. "I am confident that the results of your work will find application in the technical and humanitarian fields and will ensure our country's technological and value sovereignty," he said, calling the scholarships a high recognition of the students' achievements, hard work, and determination.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Olga Viktorovna Petrova noted that the ceremony honors the best of the best—those who have distinguished themselves in science, sports, and creativity, who demonstrate activity and personal involvement, and, of course, who excel in their studies. "Thanks to students like you, Russia is developing, and we can witness such wonderful ceremonies, which I'm sure each of you will remember for the rest of your lives," the deputy minister concluded.

Ivan Grebenshchikov, a master's student at the Tula State University Polytechnic Institute, is a newly-minted recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. He holds over ten patents and five scientific publications in journals listed by the Higher Attestation Commission. This year, he also received the Sergey Korolyov Scholarship for outstanding achievements in engineering. "The government's attention to science, its support for research and development, and the support of young researchers motivate me to further develop my potential and achieve high results," the student said.

Veronika Kaplina, a master's student at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tula State University, has been awarded the 2025 Alexander Solzhenitsyn Scholarship. She has now been awarded a government scholarship. Other awards include a rector's grant, which allowed her to study the media activities of regional political parties.

"During my undergraduate studies in the journalism department, I acquired all the necessary skills to conduct high-quality research in the information field, and my academic advisor, Sergey Viktorovich Murashchenkov, provided support in the field of political science, which helped expand the scope of my research," Veronika said.

Violetta Pertseva, a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Biologically Active Compounds and Biocomposites at Tula State University and a master's student at the Institute of Natural Sciences, is developing silicon-containing materials using sol-gel technology and microbial cells.

"The result is porous materials with a controlled structure that can be used as sorbents for loading various molecules, and the end result is an effective antiseptic," the young researcher described the essence of her work.

"It was these scientific achievements that formed the basis for my application for the Government Prize, which I am proud of. I am pleased to represent my university and the Tula Region today!"
