Darya and Vasiliy's Housewarming Party

Tula State University has welcomed one more happy student family – future doctors Darya and Vasiliy Adyutantov have moved into a spacious dormitory room after renovations.

Serpukhov native Darya and Moscow resident Vasiliy entered the Tula State University Medical Institute two years apart – he in 2022, she in 2024. They didn't meet in class, but met in Dormitory No. 9, a place remembered by generations of students.

Medical students have a very busy life. They study hard and practice extensively, and Vasiliy is also an active participant of university events. Two years ago, as a member of the Tula State University team, he took second place in the International Universiade in Anatomy at Sechenov University. The dorm is a special place, a place where people become friends and bond. Fateful encounters often take place there, as was the case with the meeting of Vasiliy and Darya.

After getting to know each other and realising they wanted to spend their lives together, the couple got married and created a true student family. Incidentally, this is a special social unit; it's even mentioned in the Federal Law "On Youth Policy in the Russian Federation." Let's briefly switch from the romantic tone to the formal.

Quote from the law: A student family is a category of young family in which both married members, including those raising a child, are aged 35 or younger and are studying in secondary vocational or higher education programs. Supporting such families is a priority at Tula State University. All key support measures have been implemented: priority placement in dormitories for students with children, including superior rooms, are provided free of charge. Individual educational plans are developed for pregnant women and young mothers, and financial support is provided, both one-time and monthly. A mother-and-child room and short-stay groups for children have been opened at the university's Solnyshko kindergarten. Medical, legal, and psychological services are provided free of charge to students with families.

The Adyutantovs are already using some of the support measures, and most will become available in a few months—they're expecting their first child. Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Marina Olegovna Panfyorova came to congratulate the family on moving into their new small apartment in Dormitory No. 6/1.

They chatted over tea and cake. The couple shared that they were doing well in their studies, and Vasiliy had already started working in the infectious diseases ward of City Hospital No. 10. They share household chores, and after classes, they plan their future life with the arrival of a new and important family member.

Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko recounted how he himself had lived in the dormitory, albeit in much more modest conditions. He drew attention to the guitar, praising the head of the family for his love of music, and also noted the conveniently organized workspace for studying at home.

"You've done well, you've settled in comfortably," the rector said. "There are currently more than 55 student families at the university, but, of course, we pay special attention and care to those raising or expecting children. Experience shows that families formed during student years are the strongest and happiest, so we will continue to do everything possible to create a favorable environment within the university for the formation and strengthening of such families."

The university's director presented the Adyutantovs with a set of tableware, always a necessary addition to a family atmosphere. He promised to visit the couple after the birth of their child with new gifts and also said that his office doors are always open to resolve any questions.

Marina Olegovna Panfyorova reminded them of the opportunities offered by Tula State University's "Solnyshko" kindergarten, which has all the necessary infrastructure, employs excellent specialists, and holds classes of no more than 15-17 children. In a couple of years, little Adyutantov will be attending this place.
