Tula State University Rector Inspects Renovation of Medical Institute Buildings

On the eve of Medical Worker's Day, Tula State University Rector Oleg Aleksandrovich Kravchenko, along with Tula State University medical students, Olga Viktorovna Semencheva, a lecturer and associate professor in the Departments of Human Anatomy and Physiology and Surgical Diseases, and a candidate of medical sciences, Vladimir Ivanovich Grigoryev, Vice Rector for General Affairs, and Darya Andreyevna Gorlatykh, Deputy Director of the Tula State University Medical Institute, inspected the completing major renovations to the first floor of the Medical Institute building.

More wide spaces and their redesigned purpose are among the key initiatives of the future medical students. This idea was the basis for the renovation work.

During the visit, the scope of the radical renovation of the premises was inspected: corridors and study areas were redesigned over a 600-square-meter area, utilities were updated, and modern renovations were carried out taking into account medical education requirements and sanitary standards. According to the students and faculty, the space now combines open architecture and comfortable practical training.

The building will now feature classrooms with transparent walls and a simulated surgical suite for observing classes - specially equipped space for simulating practical skills and practicing procedures as well as snack and recreation areas - rest areas where students can grab a bite to eat and socialize between classes.

There will also be a coworking area for socializing and group work - modern workspaces for preparing for seminars, projects, scientific, and career-oriented events.

Oleg Aleksandrovich noted the importance of creating conditions that not only meet educational standards but also foster professional competencies and teamwork among students:

“We strive to ensure that education at Tula State University combines a high academic level with a comfortable environment. New areas on the first floor of the Medical Institute will allow students to practice more, exchange experiences, and work on projects in a comfortable environment.”

Students participated in the discussion of the final layout: their suggestions were taken into account when choosing design solutions and the layout of the areas. The renovated floor will be actively used in the new academic year.
